Gamasutra recently conducted an interview with Sam Didier and J. Allen Brack of Activision Blizzard, who spoke at length about the company’s history and the very real possibilities of their future return to console gaming. “…we’re a company of gamers”, says J. Ubisoft released today the first of three short films which will prequel the upcoming Assassin’s Creed II game featuring the main character’s father; Giovanni Auditore da Firenze. The videos combine a mixture of live action footage and computer generated imagery (CGI) which was put together by the visual effects studio Hybride Technologies; who participated in the production of such films as 300 and Sin City and was just last year purchased by Ubisoft in order to create such films.
Normally video game adaptations to film don’t always work out so well, but this one seems very promising so far. But maybe you should take a look for yourself just to be sure.
BioWare has just officially announced the release of a new chapter in the Dragon Age saga; a new browser based flash game entitled Dragon Age Journeys, which will bring the franchise into a “bold new light”, according to Executive Producer of Dragon Age: Origins, Mark Darrah. “Dragon Age Journeys sets the stage for Dragon Age: Origins,” he continues, “and the release of this game allows a broad audience of players to discover our dark fantasy universe for the first time.” Read more…
Apparently BioWare just forgot or maybe they’re practicing their ninja skills, but either way the new DLC for Mass Effect, “Pinnacle Station”, has been released this morning for 400 MS Points. This new content takes place upon a top secret Alliance space station that contains 13 new combat scenarios and up to 2-3 hours of new additional gameplay. Read more…
