The newest addition of downloadable content for BioWare’s Dragon Age: Origins, Return to Ostagar, is set to be released next Tuesday on the 5th of January. The release was initially intended to be hitting the masses sometime during the holiday season, but it was a bit late to what most consumers expected. Read more…

Apparently BioWare just forgot or maybe they’re practicing their ninja skills, but either way the new DLC for Mass Effect, “Pinnacle Station”, has been released this morning for 400 MS Points. This new content takes place upon a top secret Alliance space station that contains 13 new combat scenarios and up to 2-3 hours of new additional gameplay. Read more…

A few days ago, Shacknews stumbled upon a couple of changed shipping dates on Gamefly and Newegg which appeared to have the game being pushed back to November from it’s original release date of October 20th.
Apparently the rumors have been confirmed by BioWare’s Chris Priestly stating that “Dragon Age: Origins will be released on November 3rd in North America and November 6th in Europe on the Xbox 360 videogame entertainment system and PC”.
Considering that it’s only a two week delay, it shouldn’t be too hard to bear for those itching to see BioWare’s latest epic fantasy RPG.

According to Joystiq.com, they were recently informed by a reader who took a survey concerning a forthcoming iPhone/iPod Touch app titled Mass Effect: Jacob’s Story. The survey stated that this incarnation in the Mass Effect world will star a hero by the name of Jacob Taylor – which sounds more like the name of a twelve year old boy than the unlikely hero in a Mass Effect story – who is said to be “a biotic-powered super-soldier who stumbles across a plot to terrorize civilization’s greatest beacon of hope.”
Now is it just me, or does this all seem a bit strange? excuse me for being a bit skeptical, but if this is a legit release in the Mass Effect franchise, then you can count me out. It all just seems a bit made up, and not very well. But that’s just my inner spidey senses tingling. Or maybe jock itch.
The screenshots for this new story reveal an almost anime-esque/cartoonish quality, while the combat looks to play out as a top down shooter. The survey also claims that the plot to Jacob’s Story will take place before that of Mass Effect 2 and bring to light a bit of the backstory to the characters featured in the console release. All of this and it will only cost $2.99 and about two hours of game time.
I can’t really say that I’m excited about this, or that I necessarily believe it to be true. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what EA and BioWare have to say about it to be sure.
