The star of 50 Cent Bulletproof and 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is making a wave in the video game industry, yet again, by contributing his voice over talents to the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The rap star recently took a visit to Infinity Ward to add his mark as one of “one of many squad voices” in the multiplayer and Special Ops modes according to, the developer’s own director of communications, Robert Bowling.

Bowling says that we can hope to hear Fifty declaring things like, “Reloading”, “Watch your fire”, “I’m down, get me up!”, and “Tango Down!”. It is also noted that 50 Cent had along Benji & Joel Madden, of the band Good Charlotte, for the ride; which also started rumors of them being additional voice over talents for the game.

He did manage to clear up that rumor with the folks at Kotaku by telling them that there are “quite a few casual cameos in the game, none of which I can name at this point,” and additionally stating, “Benji and Joel of Good Charlotte NOT being one of them. They’re just good friends with Curtis and came along with him when he was here recently to check out his voice in the game.”

So there you have it; 50 Cent, on the scene yet again, making new contacts in the gaming industry. But, could this be the start of a relationship that could lead to Infinity Ward developing a sequel to 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand? Or is my imagination too wildly active?

Because THAT would be a story!

Modern Warfare 2 DLC Has Chance At More Than Two Map Packs

Infinity Ward is leaving the possibility of more DLC up to the community this time for their take on the Call of Duty franchise. Robert Bowling, Community Manager at Infinity Ward, sent an email to MTV Multiplayer yesterday afternoon with these remarks:

“As far as DLC goes, we love it and plan to support ‘Modern Warfare 2′ heavily with post-launch support. We’ve confirmed we’ll be doing AT LEAST two map packs which were announced at E3 as a timed exclusive for Xbox 360. The fact that we confirmed at least two map packs doesn’t mean there won’t be more; honestly we plan on shaping our DLC based on community feedback from the full game, and first two DLC map packs. Therefore, the community will really determine what comes after that.”

With the fact that there will be at least two map packs confirmed, and the decision for more based on community feedback; it’s pretty hard to say that there wouldn’t be any more DLC coming after the release of the first two; considering the monumental success of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

So with the ball in our court, is it safe to assume that maybe we can expect more than just map packs to be released as DLC? how about an additional multiplayer mode? I suppose anything could happen, but it’s just a thought.

Today kicks off the COD:WaW Doube XP weekend event. This rank boosting extravaganza will be available for all multiplayer modes, as well as introduce two new game types into their regular playlist of modes; Team Tactical and Mercenary Team Death Match. Team Tactical is a 4 on 4 that puts two teams up against each other in a random slurry of all team based game modes, while the Mercenary TDM will not allow parties, but rather focus on random team match ups. So if you’ve been itching to rank up from the lowly state of Private, now’s your chance. Just try not to die so much.
